5 New Year’s Resolutions For Estheticians

beautiful healthy woman and reflection in the mirrorAh…. New Year’s Eve! The possibilities of the unknown in the New Year give way to so much potential. The clean slate of the 2017 affords everyone so many possibilities. It’s the one-day of the year when dreams come in the closest proximity to reality.

The relationship between a client and an esthetician is an amazing bond. Estheticians get to know their clients so well, learning about their families, their work lives, and so much more. However, the core of the relationship is very much focused on helping their client achieve healthy, beautiful skin. This is a wonderful time of year for estheticians to talk to their skincare clients about setting up new skincare goals for 2017.

Here are a few Estheticians Resolutions that we’d like to share with you that can end up growing their skincare business while helping their clients.

  1. Re-Establish Clients’ Skincare Goals
The relationship between client and esthetician can last years, even decades. Skincare needs change over time. New Year’s is an ideal time to review the clients’ goals and then create a skincare plan that will help the client achieve those goals. This can involve adding in new services and even changing home care products. If clients have been on the same treatment plan and home care routine for a while, be prepared to help them manage this time of transition.
  1. Think Outside The Skincare Box of Treatment and Topicals
Many times skincare professionals focus their skincare recommendations on skincare treatments and topical products. The old adage, “You are what you eat.” rings true in relation to a client’s skin. The daily supplement Collagen MD is a delicious drink that clients can enjoy every morning that will offer them exponential benefits for skin, hair and nails.
  1. Commit To Regular Sun Screen Reminders
It goes without saying that sunscreen is very important. Yet many clients don’t take it as seriously as estheticians would like them to. Every esthetician has a few clients who replenish their cleansers and moisturizers on a faster rate than their sunscreen. Sunscreen is the daily step that many clients skip for a variety of reasons. Regular reminders that using sunscreen and even wearing products such as Bloxsun Gloves are important, they may be the reason your client becomes habitual in their sunscreen application.
  1. Get To Know Light Therapy
As we head into the New Year, it’s amazing to look at the landscape of the spa industry. The vast technology that is available to estheticians is remarkable. In the past 10 years the use of light therapy has grown tremendously. What was once an expensive option for many spas to offer has become readily available to the consumer. Vendors are now offering hand held light therapy devices, such as Baby Quasar, that estheticians can recommend for clients to use at home
  1. Get More Knowledge
Estheticians know that growing their business and being able to help clients over the course of years requires continuing education. Education is the cornerstone of success in any spa. Continually focusing on learning new treatments, learning about new equipment, and studying the products available on the market all help to enhance an estheticians career. At CSS we pride ourselves on offering valuable, quality classes that provide, “The Estheticians Edge”!
